My biggest hobby is photography, it all started roughly 40 years ago when I went with my primary school class to the reconstruction of a Roman camp in Xanten (Germany). My father liked this and gave me his camera with the command to take pictures. And so it began.
Over the years I have photographed off and on, from animals to sailing competitions.
After the arrival of the affordable DSLR cameras, I switched to digital photography in 2005. Due to the comming of digital photography, photography eventually became cheaper and more accessible, after all, you can immediately see the result on your screen. I joined a photo club and so I was out every weekend for a few years to photograph somewhere in the Netherlands. I also went to zoos more and more because I noticed that photographing animals was my interest.
In recent years I have shifted my focus to outside the Netherlands and I want to see something of the world. Because there is so much beauty to see in the world, and I also want to photograph the animals I see in the zoo in the wild.
After a break of 8 years, I started traveling again in 2015, visiting beautiful countries and discovering and photographing as much wildlife as possible.
